Multi-factor authentication (MFA) addresses this problem by requiring users to prove their identity through additional verification methods. However, the effectiveness of that protection depends heavily on which authentication methods an organization deploys and how those methods are integrated into its access infrastructure.

The distinction matters because not all MFA implementations provide the same level of protection. A text-message verification code, an authenticator-app code, a mobile push notification, and a FIDO2 security key all introduce additional verification, but they have different security properties. Some remain vulnerable to sophisticated phishing attacks, while others are specifically designed to prevent credentials from being reused on fraudulent websites.

Selecting MFA software also involves more than choosing an authentication application. Organizations must consider identity directories, application compatibility, remote access, enrollment, device management, recovery procedures, administrative policies, and the consequences of authentication-service outages.

The market includes comprehensive identity platforms, specialist workforce authentication services, self-hosted authentication servers, and open-source identity providers. Understanding their different responsibilities is essential before comparing products.

This analysis examines established MFA platforms and open-source alternatives, with particular attention to phishing resistance, deployment flexibility, integration requirements, and the operational responsibilities that influence long-term security.

Multi-Factor Authentication Software: Comparing Phishing-Resistant Security, Identity Integration, and Deployment Control

Toggle

What Multi-Factor Authentication Software Actually Does

The authentication methods that matter most

MFA is not the same as passwordless authentication

MFA Platforms Worth Evaluating

1. <PRIVATE_PERSON>Microsoft Entra ID

2. id="What_Multi-Factor_Authentication_Software_Actually_Does">What Multi-Factor Authentication Software Actually Does

Multi-factor authentication verifies an identity using at least two distinct categories of evidence.

The traditional authentication factors are:

Something you know: A password, PIN, or other memorized secret.

Something you have: A registered smartphone, hardware security key, or cryptographic token.

Something you are: A biometric characteristic, such as a fingerprint or facial recognition.

Two verification steps do not automatically constitute two independent factors. For example, entering a password and answering a security question generally does not provide the same factor separation as combining a password with possession of a registered cryptographic authenticator.

An important distinction also exists between MFA and two-factor authentication (2FA). Two-factor authentication requires exactly two factors, whereas MFA can involve two or more.

The authentication methods that matter most

<PRIVATE_PERSON>Authentication technologies differ significantly in their resistance to credential theft, phishing, and account takeover.

Authentication method

How it works

Important security consideration

SMS OTP

Sends a verification code through a mobile network

Vulnerable to SIM swapping, interception, and phishing

Email OTP

Delivers a temporary code to an email account

Security depends on the protection of the email account

TOTP authenticator

Generates time-limited codes using a shared secret

Stronger than basic SMS in several threat scenarios, but codes can still be phished

Push authentication

Sends an approval request to a registered device

Unrestricted approvals can create MFA fatigue

Number-matching push

Requires the user to match or enter a displayed number

Reduces accidental approvals and push-bombing opportunities

Hardware security keys

Uses cryptographic authentication through a physical device

FIDO2/WebAuthn can provide phishing-resistant authentication

Platform passkeys

Uses device-bound or synchronized cryptographic credentials

Can support phishing-resistant passwordless or MFA workflows

The most important distinction is phishing resistance.

A conventional OTP can be entered into a fraudulent website and relayed to the legitimate authentication service. A properly implemented FIDO2/WebAuthn authentication flow binds the cryptographic response to the legitimate website’s origin, making this type of credential relay substantially harder.

The NIST Digital Identity Guidelines explain these authentication requirements and distinguish phishing-resistant cryptographic methods from manually entered OTPs.

The CISA guidance on implementing phishing-resistant MFA also emphasizes prioritizing phishing-resistant authentication over weaker verification methods.

MFA is not the same as passwordless authentication

These technologies overlap, but they solve different authentication problems.

MFA adds another verification factor to an authentication process. Passwordless authentication removes the need for a conventional password.

A passkey can support passwordless authentication when it is activated through a local biometric or PIN verification process. Depending on the implementation, the same technology can also serve as an additional factor in a password-based authentication flow.

This distinction matters when evaluating products. A vendor advertising passwordless authentication does not necessarily mean every supported login configuration provides the same MFA assurance.

MFA Platforms Worth Evaluating

The following products represent different approaches to identity verification. Some provide workforce-wide authentication services, others extend existing identity infrastructure, and open-source alternatives give administrators more control over deployment and customization.

They should not be treated as interchangeable products. The right comparison depends on whether an organization needs an authentication service, a broader identity platform, or an independently managed MFA infrastructure.

1. <PRIVATE_PERSON>Microsoft Entra ID

<PRIVATE_PERSON>Microsoft Entra ID is particularly relevant to organizations already using Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows, and other Microsoft enterprise services.

Its MFA functionality operates within a broader identity and access management environment. Administrators can configure authentication methods and apply access requirements through identity policies rather than managing an isolated verification service for every application.

Supported authentication options include Microsoft Authenticator, FIDO2 passkeys, Windows Hello for Business, certificate-based authentication, OATH tokens, SMS, and voice methods, subject to the relevant configuration and eligibility requirements.

The major advantage is its relationship with Conditional Access. Organizations can determine when additional verification is required based on factors such as application sensitivity, user identity, device compliance, and sign-in context.

This creates a more flexible approach than requiring identical verification for every login.

For example, an organization might require stronger authentication for administrators accessing cloud infrastructure while applying different policies to employees using managed office devices.

However, Conditional Access and other advanced identity capabilities can depend on licensing. Administrators must also understand the relationship between Microsoft Entra policies, authentication method policies, and application-specific authentication requirements.

Microsoft Entra ID is therefore particularly attractive when Microsoft already provides the organization’s central identity infrastructure. Organizations with heterogeneous application environments should evaluate federation, legacy authentication, and third-party integration requirements before assuming that every application will follow the same MFA policy.

2. Okta Adaptive MFA

Okta Adaptive MFA is designed for organizations that need authentication policies across multiple applications, identity providers, and workforce environments.

Its primary strength is its relationship with Okta’s broader identity platform. Organizations can configure authentication requirements at organizational and application levels while integrating MFA into single sign-on workflows.

Supported methods include Okta Verify, WebAuthn/FIDO2, custom TOTP, and integrations with external authentication providers, among other options.

FIDO2 support is particularly relevant because it enables organizations to introduce security keys and supported platform authenticators instead of depending exclusively on codes and push notifications.

Okta also provides FastPass, which supports passwordless and phishing-resistant authentication workflows within its ecosystem.

One important purchasing consideration is product packaging. Adaptive authentication, device context, advanced policy capabilities, and other identity functions may depend on the selected Okta products and licensing arrangements.

Organizations should also assess application compatibility. An MFA policy protecting a modern SAML or OIDC application may require a different integration approach when applied to older VPN systems, custom applications, or legacy infrastructure.

Okta is worth evaluating when workforce identity management and centralized application access are broader requirements than simply adding another verification step.

3. Cisco Duo

Cisco Duo approaches MFA through a combination of authentication verification and device trust.

Its value becomes particularly apparent in organizations that need to protect applications, remote access systems, and infrastructure containing both modern and legacy resources.

Duo supports multiple authentication approaches, including Duo Push, passcodes, security keys, biometrics, and passwordless authentication.

Its device-trust capabilities allow administrators to consider endpoint conditions when determining whether access should be permitted.

This is important because successful authentication does not necessarily mean that the device requesting access is secure.

For example, an employee might correctly authenticate using a registered phone while attempting to access corporate resources from an unmanaged computer. Authentication and device security represent separate decisions, and Duo helps organizations address both.

Duo also supports integrations with VPNs, Active Directory environments, cloud applications, and custom authentication workflows.

Its main purchasing advantage is the ability to introduce MFA across a heterogeneous environment without requiring every protected application to be rebuilt around one identity architecture.

The trade-off is that advanced device trust, adaptive policies, passwordless capabilities, and other functionality depend on the selected edition and integration.

Duo publishes a free offering for up to ten users alongside paid editions. Organizations should verify current eligibility, feature availability, and commercial terms before selecting a plan.

4. PingID

PingID is a workforce authentication solution within the broader Ping Identity ecosystem.

It is particularly relevant to organizations that need to extend MFA across established enterprise identity environments rather than replace their entire authentication infrastructure.

The platform supports authentication through mobile push notifications, OTP methods, FIDO2-compatible authenticators, security keys, and other verification approaches.

Its integration with PingOne for Workforce and other enterprise identity technologies makes it relevant to organizations operating centralized identity and federation systems.

PingID also supports integrations involving Microsoft Active Directory, Windows login, Mac login, SSH applications, and enterprise single sign-on environments.

One important consideration is the relationship between PingID and the surrounding Ping Identity architecture. Some capabilities depend on the identity platform and configuration in which PingID operates.

FIDO2 support also requires compatible browsers, operating systems, and authentication policies. A security key should not be assumed to work across every application simply because the authentication platform supports the standard.

PingID is worth considering when an organization already uses Ping Identity or requires a workforce authentication layer integrated with existing enterprise identity services.

5. RSA ID Plus

RSA ID Plus targets organizations with demanding authentication requirements across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.

Its broad authentication coverage is a significant differentiator. Supported methods include FIDO2, passkeys, mobile push, biometrics, OTP, QR codes, SMS, voice, and hardware tokens.

The platform also supports integrations through established enterprise mechanisms such as SAML, OIDC, and RADIUS.

This makes RSA particularly relevant to organizations that cannot migrate every application to a modern cloud-based authentication model.

A financial institution, for example, may operate cloud applications alongside internal systems, remote access infrastructure, and older authentication-dependent applications. Supporting different access environments through one identity strategy can reduce administrative fragmentation.

RSA also offers offline authentication capabilities, which can be important in environments where connectivity to centralized authentication services cannot always be guaranteed.

However, organizations should examine the exact offline workflows, supported applications, token requirements, and recovery procedures rather than assuming that all authentication methods work identically without network connectivity.

RSA ID Plus is a serious candidate for organizations with hybrid infrastructure, established security operations, and demanding authentication continuity requirements.

6. privacyIDEA

privacyIDEA offers an alternative to commercial cloud-managed authentication services by providing an open-source, self-hosted MFA platform.

Its architecture is particularly interesting for organizations that want direct control over authentication infrastructure, token management, and integration with existing identity sources.

The platform supports different authentication mechanisms, including OTP tokens, FIDO2-related authentication, and other supported token types.

It can connect with identity sources such as LDAP and SQL databases and provides policy-based management of authentication devices and users.

This flexibility makes it useful for organizations protecting VPN access, SSH connections, web applications, and other systems that need additional verification.

Its modular approach also allows administrators to integrate authentication into existing infrastructure rather than depending on one commercial identity provider.

However, self-hosting changes the operational responsibility.

The organization must manage server availability, database security, updates, backups, monitoring, certificate management, and recovery processes.

Open-source licensing does not mean zero operating cost. Infrastructure, specialist administration, integration development, and support requirements can become significant at larger deployments.

privacyIDEA is especially relevant to technically capable organizations that value deployment control, vendor independence, and customization.

7. Keycloak

Keycloak is an open-source identity and access management platform that includes MFA functionality as part of its authentication architecture.

Unlike a specialist MFA service, Keycloak provides a broader identity layer for applications that require centralized authentication, federation, and access management.

Its authentication flows can combine username/password verification with OTP and WebAuthn authentication.

Administrators can configure conditional authentication flows, register authenticators, and define how users move through different verification steps.

This makes Keycloak particularly useful for software companies, developers, and organizations building applications that need an identity provider under their control.

Its support for standards such as OpenID Connect and SAML also makes it relevant to applications that need federated authentication.

The main attraction is architectural flexibility. Development teams can integrate authentication into their applications without making a commercial identity platform the only possible identity authority.

However, Keycloak requires technical ownership.

Administrators must configure authentication flows, secure the deployment, maintain databases, monitor availability, and manage upgrades. Poorly designed flows can also create unexpected login behavior or recovery problems.

Keycloak is a strong candidate when an organization needs a programmable identity platform with MFA rather than a ready-made workforce authentication service.

8. authentik

authentik is another open-source identity platform that provides MFA through configurable authentication flows.

Its appeal is its ability to connect applications and authentication requirements through a centrally managed identity service.

The platform supports TOTP devices, WebAuthn credentials, and static recovery tokens. Administrators can also introduce additional verification methods through configurable authentication stages.

This gives organizations control over how users authenticate before reaching protected applications.

authentik is particularly relevant to organizations managing self-hosted services, internal applications, and infrastructure that benefits from centralized authentication.

Its approach is more flexible than installing a separate MFA application for every protected service.

However, it should not be confused with a dedicated commercial workforce MFA service offering identical device intelligence, support arrangements, and enterprise authentication integrations.

The organization remains responsible for deployment security, availability, upgrades, integration testing, and recovery procedures.

authentik is worth evaluating when an organization wants an open-source identity provider with configurable MFA and is comfortable managing the infrastructure.

Comparing the MFA Platforms

The following comparison highlights the architectural differences that matter more than a generic feature count.

Platform

Primary use case

Deployment approach

Main differentiator

Microsoft Entra ID

Microsoft-centric workforce identity

Cloud identity service

Conditional Access and Microsoft ecosystem integration

Okta Adaptive MFA

Cross-application workforce identity

Cloud identity service

Adaptive authentication and centralized SSO

Cisco Duo

Workforce and remote-access protection

Primarily cloud-managed

Device trust and heterogeneous integrations

PingID

Enterprise workforce authentication

SaaS

Integration with Ping Identity environments

RSA ID Plus

Complex hybrid authentication

Cloud and hybrid options

Broad authentication methods and continuity options

privacyIDEA

Independently managed MFA

Self-hosted

Open-source token and authentication management

Keycloak

Application identity and authentication

Self-hosted

Programmable authentication flows and federation

authentik

Self-hosted application identity

Self-hosted

Configurable authentication stages and access integration

The products are not equally suited to every environment. Microsoft Entra ID and Okta are broader identity platforms, Duo emphasizes workforce authentication and device trust, and PingID and RSA address enterprise authentication requirements. privacyIDEA, Keycloak, and authentik provide greater infrastructure control but transfer more operational responsibility to the organization.

The Security Difference Between Traditional MFA and Phishing-Resistant MFA

The most consequential purchasing decision is often not which vendor to select but which authentication methods to enforce.

An organization can deploy an expensive MFA platform and still expose users to phishing if its policies rely primarily on manually entered verification codes.

Consider three different login scenarios.

Scenario 1: Password and SMS verification

An employee enters a corporate password and receives a verification code by text message. A phishing website can capture the password and relay the verification code to the legitimate service.

The second verification step adds protection against some password-only attacks, but it does not prevent every real-time phishing technique.

Scenario 2: Password and push verification

The employee enters a password and receives an authentication request on a registered mobile device.

This provides another verification step, but repeated fraudulent requests can encourage users to approve an authentication attempt without carefully examining it.

Number matching and additional contextual information help reduce this risk.

Scenario 3: Password and FIDO2 security key

The employee enters a password and completes a WebAuthn authentication challenge using a registered security key.

The cryptographic response is bound to the legitimate website’s origin. A fraudulent website cannot simply capture and replay the authentication response in the same way it can relay a manually entered OTP.

This is why phishing-resistant authentication deserves priority when evaluating MFA platforms.

Why FIDO2 and WebAuthn deserve particular attention

FIDO2 combines WebAuthn and the Client to Authenticator Protocol (CTAP) to support public-key-based authentication.

Instead of relying on a shared verification code, a registered authenticator uses a cryptographic key pair.

The private key remains protected by the authenticator, while the service verifies the signed authentication response using the corresponding public key.

This architecture reduces dependence on secrets that users must manually enter.

Organizations evaluating FIDO2 should examine:

Support for platform authenticators and external security keys.

Compatibility with desktop and mobile operating systems.

Browser and application support.

User verification requirements, including PIN or biometric activation.

Credential registration and revocation.

Security-key replacement procedures.

Passkey synchronization policies.

Recovery when users lose access to registered devices.

A particularly important distinction is between synced and device-bound credentials. Synced passkeys improve convenience and recovery across devices, while organizations with stricter hardware-control requirements may prefer policies that restrict where credentials can be stored.

The correct approach depends on the organization’s threat model and assurance requirements.

How to Evaluate MFA Software Beyond Authentication Methods

An MFA platform should be assessed as part of the organization’s complete access architecture.

A product that supports sophisticated authentication methods may still be unsuitable if it cannot protect the applications, devices, and remote access systems that employees actually use.

Application integration and authentication protocols

Start by identifying the applications that require protection.

Modern SaaS applications commonly support SAML or OpenID Connect (OIDC), allowing MFA to be enforced through an identity provider.

However, older applications may rely on RADIUS, LDAP integrations, VPN authentication, reverse proxies, or proprietary login mechanisms.

These differences matter.

An organization might successfully enforce MFA on its Microsoft 365 applications but discover that an older remote desktop gateway or internal application requires a separate integration.

A practical integration assessment should cover:

SAML and OIDC support for federated applications.

RADIUS compatibility for VPN and network access.

LDAP and Active Directory integration.

Windows and macOS authentication.

SSH access for infrastructure administrators.

APIs and SDKs for custom applications.

Support for legacy authentication workflows.

Do not assume that a vendor’s statement about supporting thousands of integrations means every integration supports identical MFA methods or policies.

Adaptive authentication and contextual access

Traditional MFA applies verification rules based on predetermined policies.

Adaptive authentication introduces additional context when evaluating access requests.

Depending on the product, this may include:

User identity and group membership.

Application sensitivity.

Device registration and compliance.

Network location.

Sign-in risk.

Unusual authentication behavior.

Access from unfamiliar devices.

For example, an organization might require phishing-resistant MFA for privileged administrators regardless of location, while allowing employees on compliant managed devices to use an appropriately configured authentication flow.

The important distinction is that contextual policies should strengthen access decisions without creating unpredictable exceptions.

Administrators should understand exactly which signals influence authentication, how risk decisions are logged, and what happens when a required device or risk signal is unavailable.

Enrollment and account recovery

MFA deployment often becomes difficult during enrollment and recovery rather than routine authentication.

Users may lose smartphones, replace security keys, change phone numbers, or lose access to their registered devices.

An organization that does not plan these situations can create a serious security problem.

Recovery procedures should establish:

How users register their initial authentication methods.

Whether multiple authenticators can be registered.

How lost devices are revoked.

How identity is verified before a replacement authenticator is issued.

Whether administrators can temporarily restore access.

How emergency access is monitored.

How recovery actions are recorded and reviewed.

Recovery should not become an easier route into an account than normal authentication.

For privileged accounts, organizations should consider separately controlled recovery procedures, multiple registered authenticators, and documented emergency-access arrangements.

Administrative controls and audit visibility

MFA software also needs to support the people responsible for operating it.

Administrators should be able to determine:

Which users have enrolled authenticators.

Which authentication methods are permitted.

Which applications enforce MFA.

Which users have bypass exceptions.

Why authentication requests were denied.

When authenticators were registered or removed.

Whether suspicious authentication patterns are occurring.

Audit logs should provide sufficient information for security investigations without unnecessarily exposing authentication secrets or sensitive personal information.

Organizations should also assess whether authentication events can be forwarded to their SIEM or centralized logging infrastructure.

This becomes particularly important when MFA is part of a larger identity threat detection and incident-response strategy.

Open-Source MFA Versus Commercial Authentication Platforms

The decision between commercial and open-source MFA is primarily a question of operational responsibility, integration complexity, and control.

<figure sense

Commercial platforms are generally attractive when an organization wants a managed authentication service with established enterprise integrations and vendor support.

They can reduce the amount of infrastructure that internal security teams must operate.

However, the commercial model needs careful examination.

Licensing may depend on the number of users, protected applications, device capabilities, authentication features, and additional identity services.

A low entry-level subscription does not necessarily include every feature needed for a mature enterprise deployment.

When open-source MFA is more appropriate

Open-source options are attractive when infrastructure control, customization, and independence from a single commercial identity vendor are priorities.

privacyIDEA is particularly relevant when the primary requirement is an independently managed MFA service.

Keycloak and authentik are more appropriate when MFA is part of a wider application identity and access architecture.

However, organizations must budget for infrastructure, monitoring, security maintenance, database administration, backup procedures, integration development, and incident response.

The absence of a software subscription should never be confused with the absence of operating costs.

What MFA Deployment Looks Like in Practice

Consider a company with employees working remotely, administrators managing cloud infrastructure, and internal applications that still depend on legacy authentication.

A sensible implementation does not necessarily involve enforcing the same verification method everywhere.

A more practical deployment could use separate authentication requirements for different access categories.

Access category

Suggested authentication approach

Additional control

General workforce recognizes that authentication strength, application compatibility, and operational risk are related but separate considerations.

A phased rollout is generally more manageable than attempting to change every authentication workflow simultaneously.

A practical implementation sequence

1. Inventory existing authentication dependencies

Identify applications, directories, VPN systems, privileged accounts, remote access tools, and custom applications.

Document which systems support modern federation and which require alternative integration methods.

2. Establish an authentication policy

Define which user groups and applications require MFA.

Separate ordinary workforce access from privileged access, administrative operations, and sensitive business systems.

3. Prioritize phishing-resistant methods

Introduce passkeys and FIDO2 security keys where supported.

If these methods cannot be deployed immediately, use stronger alternatives such as number-matching push or authenticator-based OTP rather than relying on unrestricted push approvals or SMS as the primary long-term strategy.

4. Test enrollment and recovery

Pilot the enrollment process with different employee groups and device types.

Test lost-device scenarios, security-key replacement, account recovery, and administrator access restoration.

5. Integrate monitoring and incident response

Forward relevant authentication events into existing security monitoring systems.

Establish procedures for investigating suspicious approvals, repeated failures, unexpected device registrations, and recovery activity.

6. Review exceptions and authentication coverage

Identify accounts and applications that remain outside the MFA policy.

Document the reason for each exception and establish a process for reviewing whether it can be eliminated.

Common MFA Implementation Mistakes

Even a well-selected authentication platform can introduce security weaknesses when deployment policies are poorly designed.

Several mistakes deserve particular attention.

Treating all authentication factors as equally secure: SMS, TOTP, push notifications, and FIDO2 do not provide equivalent phishing resistance. Organizations should prioritize stronger methods for sensitive accounts.

Allowing unrestricted push approvals: Repeated authentication requests can lead to accidental approvals. Number matching and contextual verification should be considered.

Ignoring service accounts: Automated processes, integrations, and machine identities may not support conventional interactive MFA. They require separate authentication controls, such as certificates, workload identities, or appropriately managed cryptographic credentials.

Creating weak recovery procedures: An attacker who can bypass account recovery can potentially bypass the security benefits of MFA.

Overlooking legacy applications: An organization may protect its modern cloud applications while leaving older VPNs, remote desktop systems, and internal services inadequately protected.

Failing to monitor authentication exceptions: Temporary MFA bypasses can become permanent security weaknesses when nobody reviews them.

Assuming MFA prevents every account takeover: MFA significantly strengthens authentication, but it does not independently prevent session-cookie theft, compromised endpoints, malicious insiders, or every form of social engineering.

Organizations should combine MFA with endpoint protection, session management, least-privilege access, identity monitoring, and appropriate incident-response procedures.

Which MFA Platform Fits Different Organizational Requirements?

The most appropriate choice depends on the existing identity architecture and the security outcomes an organization needs.

Organizational requirement

Platforms worth evaluating

Why they fit

Microsoft-centric enterprise

Microsoft Entra ID

Native integration with Microsoft’s identity and application ecosystem

Multi-application workforce identity

Okta Adaptive MFA

Centralized identity and adaptive authentication

Remote workforce and device verification

Cisco Duo

Device trust and broad application integration

Existing Ping Identity infrastructure

PingID

Integration with Ping workforce identity services

Complex hybrid environments

RSA ID Plus

Broad authentication methods and hybrid deployment options

Self-hosted authentication infrastructure

privacyIDEA

Independent MFA management and customization

Developer-controlled application authentication

Keycloak

Programmable identity and authentication flows

Self-hosted application access

authentik

Configurable authentication and identity integration

There is no universal winner across these categories.

For organizations already standardized on Microsoft services, Microsoft Entra ID is a logical starting point. Okta is worth considering when centralized workforce identity extends across multiple application ecosystems. Duo deserves attention when device trust and remote access are important requirements.

RSA ID Plus and PingID are relevant to more complex enterprise authentication environments.

For organizations prioritizing self-hosting and customization, privacyIDEA, Keycloak, and authentik provide different architectural approaches. The choice between them should depend on whether the primary requirement is an independent MFA service or a broader application identity platform.

Before purchasing, organizations should run a pilot using representative applications, user groups, authentication methods, and recovery scenarios. A successful login demonstration is not sufficient evidence of production readiness.

The most valuable MFA investment is not necessarily the platform with the largest feature catalogue. It is the one that can enforce appropriate authentication strength across the organization’s actual access infrastructure without introducing unreliable recovery processes or unmanaged exceptions.

A stolen password should not be enough to enter a corporate network, access financial records, or take control of an […]

[1
1761,1732,1344,1807,1805,1759,1764,1803,1769,1810,1809,1795,1806,1804,1808
post-2127","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-access-management","tag-cybersecurity-2","tag-enterprise-security","tag-fido2","tag-iam","tag-identity-and-access-management","tag-identity-security","tag-mfa-software","tag-multi-factor-authentication","tag-open-source-security-2","tag-passkeys","tag-passwordless-authentication","tag-phishing-resistant-authentication","tag-two-factor-authentication","tag-webauthn
["GET
